Newbie to the forum.

As a current and happy two-time Mazda owner, I'm looking to upgrade to an MPS and I was wondering if any owners of the '09-'13 plate cars have any buying tips and suggestions as to what to look out for.

I also have a question about pricing: what is the most that I should be paying? I've seen a number of dealers around the country selling MPS cars and most seem (according to valuation sites such as Parkers) grossly over priced. For instance, a 2013 car with 19k on the clock currently being sold by Bentley's of Hook is going for £14,990. When valued on Parkers - mileage taken into account - they quote £11,560 for an independent dealer.

I am a recent buyer also (July 2017). As these cars are coming more rare, if one has low milege then garages will bump up the price a little, especially with no modificstions, 1 owner, FSH etc..
A lot of people who have MPS mod them, so depends what your looking for. 1 with little more milege and mods, will be cheaper, 1 untouched and no mods, more expensive.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of that and it makes a lot of sense. Will just make it harder to negotiate with dealers, though, even when showing them screen shots of valuations.

Did you buy your MPS privately or through a dealer? Any buying tips or things I should look out for?

Ye screenshots of valuations won’t make a difference to them. If you can’t meet the price they want then they won’t budge.

I bought mine privately on AutoTrader. You have more chance of hassling down the proce privately I recon.

Just the ususal tips, check for Full Service History, no major work needs doing etc.
