Hi all, I recently bought a 56 plate red 6 mps,

It's done 92k and when I bought it I replaced all timing chain kit including all cogs/sprockets and vvt unit (cost me a fortune)

I have a couple of questions if someone could help out?

First issue, Before it went into the shop everything was fine, after all timing chain was replaced I have an issue of low idle (down to 500rpm) until the engine has warmed up then it is fine.

Also I use mobile 1 5/30 and I'm going through silly amounts of oil, there are no leaks and it only seems to smoke when I'm giving it death but looks like white smoke.

Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like your oil issue could be the turbo.
Switch to 5w40 though if your using daft amounts of oil it's sounds like it's too late and you need a turbo replacement


As for your low idle, is this every time?

Ok cool I'll whack a new turbo on, there only a couple hundered quid.

Yeh it is everytime, it starts fine and auto choke kicks in
It's only then when I drive it to the end of my street and stop in neutral or with the clutch in it drops to 500 rpm, I'm thinking it could be the Maf.

On another note, has anyone got any spare shiny bits they want to sell?
