Hi all
I'm new to the forums here. Just because it's getting to the point now where I'm thinking of upgrading a few things on my '09 3 and not being mechanically minded I need advice!!
I've had my 3 MPS for 2 and a half years and it's still 100% standard as factory. Serviced regularly at a Mazda dealer and it's still as good today as the day I bought it.
However, the car is approaching 90,000 miles and certain things are starting to deteriorate, or need replacing, and when I do get round to it I want to replace the parts with better quality items than the standard OE stuff where viable so it will go better, stop better and handle better.
First up is the brakes. Rear pads first then I'm attacking the front ones...which don't actually need replacing yet but will most likely need doing so in a years time. Also sometimes get a bit of brake fade/slight juddering when braking from high speeds such as leaving the motorway...at night...when it's empty
After the brakes, my MOT advisory says the lower front suspension bushes are deterioted but not badly enough to be dangerous. I remember years ago back in my Saxo VTS ownership days (long ago) reading in Max Power about polyurethane bushes. Don't know if these are still the best in this day and age but I would be inclined to go for something like that rather than rubber which will perish faster. I'm hoping to hang on to this car for a long time so would rather have a good job done once...not to mention an expensive one.
So that's just the start, more to come most likely. Sorry the post is a bit epic!!
Looking forward to reading and taking part in future discussions and learning more
