Another 6 in the wee county! I,ve had my 6 for 2 wks now swapped my inpractical tt for a family saloon It is a q car i know but i think it is too easy to squeeze the pedal and be going way too quick with only the tyre noise louder than the engine or exhaust.

well a good air intake will give it a throatier engine note, and a downpipe will release a bit of restriction and a nicer burble, oh and whilst youre there you may as well map it........ oh and

Looking at intakes just now, the exhaust will follow when funds allow i,ve remapped a tdci in the past and was well pleased with the gain in power but surprised to get even better fuel consumption is it the same petrol remaps?

I previously had a TDCI remapped and i DIDNT get better mpg for the same pace and neither did you. If you drive at naff all revs on the motorsnooze then you get more mpg on your diseasel, but as soon as you use the grunt - wey hey; mpg say good bye... Went from 40 mpg average to 34mpg - but then that's fine because i had loads more power and was going faster.
Think of it this way.. Your engine is a a method of turning chemical energy into heat energy, into torque. The more chemical / heat energy and torque you produce the more fuel you use. The ONLY time these 'remap save you fuel' claims work is at light load on the motorway - EVER - FACT. Have a think about how you drive your car and what you want then decide if a remap is what you're really after...

Sorry onboard computer says i went from 44 mpg to 49 mpg avg? And i didnt drive like Miss Daisy and it was the same route to work, improved 5mph top end but better acc thru the gears Yes i would have thought that more speed/ torque meant more fuel but i have read that the cars were programmed as std to be more tolerant?/ able to be abused by everyday driving . My tdci used more oil after the remap and produced a lot more smoke to the point where my local garage who does servicing on both the family cars would probably have failed it on its mot but didn,t prob due to them knowing the car was serviced by them
