Hi I bought a 6 MPS recently. This is my first turbo-charged car so please excuse my ignorance , but how much noise is the turbo supposed to make? At low revs, about 2000-2500rpm it whines quite a bit. Once its spinning properly though it doesn't really make mush nose, just a faint hissing/whistling noise, which I guess is expected.

Standard, you can't really hear it at all.

Thanks for the replies. I had my missus rev it while I was listening to it, but the with the hood up the engine drowns out most of the noise so you can't hear it that well. I checked, it seems to be coming from the black box in the front left corner of the engine bay, which looks like the air-filter. Everything looks pretty standard though. Might be that there is a leak somewhere which is making the noise. Doesn't sound like it comes from the engine itself, which is good. ;-)

could be a tricky one without hearing it as it may be a normal mps noise depending on what you can hear......there may be another MPS member your way that could take a look and listen for you....?
