Just thought I would introduce myself. Looking to get a 6 mps, in the next few weeks. Been reading through mech section and buyers guide and fingers crossed I can pick a good one. I currently have a 320bhp Impreza and I am hoping that the mps will be the "grown up Impreza" that I am hoping for. ;) My wife has a 2.3 6 and i love the way it drives and only complaint is that needs more power. Will post pictures when i finally get my mps.

An impreza especially a fast one will be faster and always sound better.
Chuck some handling mods at the 6 before you start looking at power and you will have a superior car for sure. Its a case of deep pockets

6MPS is not a grown up Impreza. It is a 2.3 Sport with a lot more power and AWD. Test drive is a must.

Good choice mate my old man has a WRX impreza with the Pro-dive pack it pulls on my a car length up till about 60 then after that he got no chance..
The 6 will feel like a barge compared thou as it is a big car. Like mentioned above sort the handling 1st then you will love it.

cheers for the replys. I do realise that it won't be as sharp to drive as my Impreza but I find myself just pootleing to and from work with the odd heavy foot moment so I still think it will be the best option. I have had a BMW 330ci which was lovely to drive but was soooooo dull. I am hoping that the mps will sit between BMW and Impreza, comfortable but still good fun when I want it to be.

Welcome to the forum mate! Have you found a car yet? I might be considering selling my 6 if I get the right money for it

Never driven a scoob but in all honesty I didn't think that much of the 6 out the box power wise, but with <£1000 thrown at it its now a proper fast (grown up) saloon. Handling....again out the box.....not great, but for me and my needs (80% motorway cruiser) it's perfect.

Cheers for replys.
Haven't had a chance to go try a car yet as I have been on nights but have a few days off coming up so going to see a few then.
I am really going to try and not modify the mps as much as my impreza. Apart from opening up the engine, you name it, ive done it. Saying that I have been investigating the Cobb AP v3 and so far very impressed. But after what i have read on here i will be doing diff mounts before i think about anything else. ;)

I got my MPS!!
It's a 2006 in Black. 85000, BOSE, sat nav, parrot and parking sensors(supplied but need fitting). All for £4300.
The car is just what I wanted, very comfortable but still got enough power when needed. Doesn't feel too much slower than my Impreza, mostly due to the lack of turbo lag. I have noticed that i need to use 3rd and forth to get up to speed rather than just third, but that is no real issue.
Will post some pictures when I have cleaned it. ;)
