Hi folks

I'm looking to change my car and purchase a MK2 Mazda 3MPS, so presumed that there would be no better place to look than to enthusiasts like yourselves.

Low mileage preferred, standard if possible, and well looked after both cosmetically and mechanically, including full service history.

Not really fussed on colour, but my least preferred would be black.

Prepared to travel for the right car, but if I'm travelling I'd like the seller to provide as much information as possible, and be transparent regarding the condition. I hope that's not too much to ask, and that you don't take it the wrong way.

I'm located in North West England.

Looking to purchase mid-April.

Thanks in advance, and hello again

Thanks Kenny - I appreciate the welcome and your help with accessing the forum etc.

The MPS is a hard car to come by. There aren't many fit sale. Were they only sold in limited numbers, or do people tend to keep hold of them? Or god forbid they're all written off!

Mines out the window then lol

Hope you find the one you're after. Sorry if mine needs too much work doing.

Mate is getting the alloys on his refurbed and painted for £200, someone in Morecombe so I might see about getting them done on mine.

Do have pics of mine on here when it was modified so have a gander.

Tony

Like I said on Facebook Tony (before you promptly deleted it); It was nothing personal, and I didn't really deserve the outburst from you.
I can only go by the quotes I'd got locally. Don't get me wrong, if I could get a full set properly refurbed for £200 then I would. To be fair, I got the quote down from £400 to £280 in one call, so give me some credit :-)

Yes I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my car, but I'm not so unreasonable that I wouldn't expect stone chips in the bumper/bonnet and minor curbing. The latter however would bug me, so I'd always look to get them repaired.

Depending on were you are in the north west , there are plenty of refurb places around manchester and especially stockport that you can get it done for 200£.You just need to spend 30 mins ringing from the yell app .
When i lived in manchester 200£ was the going rate and it still is now , even down here you get a few nobs that want 300£ + but a little bit of research will get the price down .

As for the stone chips , dont get to hung over on them all jap cars tend to have soft paint , plus the frontal area is quite big so they chip with ease .

Deleted it because I don't have to justify myself, nor justify my financial situation with a stranger, which I thought was a bit insensitive on that email. Whatever car I'm after next is my business, but I'm not getting another car now so it doesn't matter.

I've had a lot of family and personal issues over last year and that's the main reason I've not had time to get things sorted, or else I would have. My Mrs and son nearly died at birth and my son has just recovered from Meningitis.

Family is more important than a car. Not getting into a debate over it so leaving it there. I hope you find one that your looking for

Tony

If I had kerbed or corroded alloys, I would consider some of the lovely refurbs you can get so I would end up with better looking higher quality job than the standard Mazda finish which we are all familiar.

I never asked you to justify your financial situation! I simply asked you to clarify why you were seling the car, as you told me initially that it was because you have a growing family and the Mrs had just assed her test. Then I notice that you were looking for a Type R, which contradicted what you initially told me. Sorry to hear about your family issues, but again, I wasn't asking you to justify why you hadn't sorted the issues out.

Anyway, bygones...

That deal obviously fell thru, let's not get into any arguments, neither of yourselves need to justify anything, one wasn't happy to sell so low the other not so happy to pay the asking.
hopefully Marc you'll find the one for you.

Welcome to the forum Shab. :mpsoc:

Keep at it and the right 3 will come along soon eniugh, these cars were never produced in anywhere near the numbers of say thr Astra VXR's or Focus ST's and I travelled from Stockport to York for mine, well worth it though. :D

Sorry to hear on your situation Tone hopefully it will work out for the best :)
