Hi Guys am new here got a mazda 6 mps had it a month and I love it but I got the dreaded 1 sec rattle at cold start and am looking for a garage in the north west (Manchester) that's familiar with the Mps as from what I read might need the Vvt kit changed it's a 56 plate. Any garages that you guys can recommend I'll be extremely grateful I love my Mps need to get it sorted ?

Hi mate and welcome to the forum, did you buy it privately or from a garage, only asking as you may wangle it on the warranty if its the latter  Somebody should be along shortly to advise on a reputable garage in your area, but any decent mechanic should be able to do the vvt/chain etc

Hi mate I bought it private only got 41000 miles one owner from new apparently there was a recall in America for the same fault VVt rattle why they haven't done it here in the UK baffles me? I love my Mps just want to get it sorted cause I intend to keep it for awhile so need a garage that's familiar with this motor to check it out and give me a accurate diagnoses.

If you can get to the lakes, Ambleside/Windermere, you can get it all done for £400.
Mps6dave has a garage there.
Where in Manchester are you? There's a meet this Sunday that 10-15 mps's are going to, next to Trafford centre. If you can come along you'll get loads of advice and we could listen to your engine for you

Mazda wanted 1500 for the full camchain changeout. TotalMPS did the change, and a remap, for under 1k, even let me set up office in reception so I didn't need to take a day off work, recommended. PS If Gunther tells you the directions to the Maccys/Asda for dinner turn left out of the door, opposite the way you drive in, or you'll get really lost PPS
