Just remember to let the engine oil warm up for 5-8 mins before putting foot down above 3k revs and for turbo to cool down for a few secs before switch off if you have been going WOT..Welcome & Enjoy

Try to keep tyres about the same tread front to back, if not you may upset the diff... Run them to about 2-3mm then look at replacing all 4

First mod uprated rear engine mount :D
See how car feels going 2nd to 3rd flat out, my one made a thudding noise and I struggled to hit 3rd sometimes due to engine movement - the rear engine mount fixed this if but see how you get on with no mods as you may get addicted like the rest of us

thanks. Not into modding, just like a standard car. My partner has an extremely quick car so if I feel the need for even more speed I can take that out :D

Just had a real job squeezing it into my garage , that will take some practice. Not used to the clutch yet, not much room for error, is that what you call the "snappy" clutch ? Its a Sept 06 model.

Now I have cleaned the windows I notice that the windscreen is really chipped, loads of little marks all over, looks like its been rallying! How much are new screens??

Whats the average price for a set of four decent tyres then. I dont like to have cheap ones, but dont think I can afford top ones, so somewhere in the middle.
thanks for any info

You may be able to get a new screen on your insurance if it is not repairable. Could check with Autoglass or similar.

Do some research on this forum on mid priced tyres. I wold only touch those recommended by a number of members. Have a look then on the Camskills website for prices as a guide. 215/45/18, standard size on the 6, is an oddball size and therefore expensive and limited choice. A lot have opted for 225/40/18 which is fine but don`t forget to tell your insurance.

The last of the snappy clutches were built in July 2006 so probably have one for the late ones. There is an adjustment you can do which lowers the bite point which helps a lot.
