Its a 2006, red, with bbs reps, bc coilies, full history, very clean, goes like the proverbial! 119,400 miles :s
Paid £4250!! Iam takig a bit of a gamble I suppose as the mileage is high but it does pull really strong and it has been looked after well,so basically I cant frighin wait to get itttt!
Also where is the best place to get aftermarket exhausts for this car? Thanks everyone! PS will post pictures up tomorrow's hopefully

Hello and welcome!

Most popular off the shelf is exhaust is the Jetex, but that's because it's pretty much the only exhaust you can buy!

Things like cp-e and Corksport exhausts don't seem to get imported, so if you don't get a Jetex, you need to go custom.

i would check if the VVT has been replaced, with such high miles i would imagine it has or will probably need doing

Is the VVT that rattle ive seen a few mps with rattley tickover?
When I checked this one over there was no rattle noises coming from the engine. Does this mean its ok? Surely you dont mean the actual timing will need adjusting?!

The rattle I the biggest give away that the VVT is failing. But some go out of align with no give away signs.
As yours is high mileage, I'd take the rocker cover off and check to see if its been rubbing anywhere

There are 2 noises. There is the loudish tapping noise from the left side of the engine and there is the slack timing chain rattle from the same area. The timing chain noise is horrible and would alarm most techs.

Don`t know what mileages an MPS has run to but a lot of modern engines seem to last for a long time.

there's Aussies buying MPS with 200K Km (125K miles), so I'd say as long as it's been looked after and not abused (too much) then it's a reasonable buy. TBH I'd still be thinking twice with that mileage.

That is at least 2 oil changes per year.
