Hi guys, I'm relativley new to the forum. I'm not currently an MPS owner but have been looking for a 6 for a few weeks now. The company car is due to go back next week, so I'm stepping up the search now. Ideally looking for one in black or silver with less than 50k on the clock as I'll be using it as a daily runner. I'm based in Glasgow, but willing to travel for the right car so if anyone is looking to sell or know's someone who is, I would love to hear from you. Once I have the car I'll be looking to do a few subtle mods (stuff the wife won't notice), so sure I'll be back on here in the near future looking some advice. Cheers

Hello & along! You're in the right place as it's a very helpful forum with plenty information. Good luck with your hunt...worth keeping an eye on the usual places: Pistonheads, Gumtree, Ebay & Autotrader I would say and also in the forsale section here - although never much.

Thanks for the welcome.
I'm off on holiday this week, so have been obsessively checking Autotrader, Pistonheads, Guntree and Ebay on an hourly basis! Fingers crossed something suitable comes up soon as I can't do without a car for longer than a week or 2 and really don't want to compromise! I've wanted a 6mps for years but couldn't justify it as I've had a company car since 2008.
I'm going to have a look at one in the next few days that isn't currently advertised. It has a Mazda SH until about 21k, but nothing after that and currently at about 45k. The current owner said his friend (bmw tech) has serviced since then. He seems like a decent bloke, and I've no reason not to believe him. However, I've been badly burned in the past when it comes to 2nd hand cars, so want to ask if anyone has any advice on mps6 specific things to keep an eye out for?
Cheers

Hi remix,
thanks for the advice above. Greatly appreciated.
I'm going to have a look at the car of Friday and will take a look the best I can. I have pretty limited mechanical experience, so not sure how much use I'll be! I was thinking about paying for one of the AA inspections, but called about it earlier and was told it would be £290!!! I find that a bit ridiculous. I think I might try and find a local garage and take it to them for a check.
Cheers

Or post a video of it on here if you are not sure and someone will tell you by the noise. There are quite a few owners in Glasgow area so worth putting out a request if anyone can pop along with you if they have some time Good luck with it all

Hi Coop, thanks for the welcome.
Appreciate the heads up, but the mileage is a bit more than i'm looking for. I'll be using the car for a daily commute, so looking for the lowest mileage possible. Keep me posted if you're putting it up for sale though as I would consider it if price is right.
Cheers.
