Well after 6 months of waiting and patiently reading how good these cars are in the forums and watching everything on youtube and several months trawling the Internet reading reviews and road tests I thought I knew what I was buying !

"How wrong can you be "

Took the car for an hour test drive before buying and the thing is unbelievable every single gear pulls like a train and the lower gears give you a kick in the back like you have to bored kids back their lol.

I am a true car enthusiast but these last few years got rather bored of the same stuff so much so I took to driving a little city citing the old excuses of fuel and tax etc and let the wife have the budget for the family car and it was only these last 6 months when I stumbled upon an article about the mps that my love of driving was rekindled but I promised myself I would not test drive till I was in a position to buy ...que today.

Lined up a car just outside York ,one lady owner (60 years I would say) was selling her mps for a Beemer , her husband apparently had a jag and she apparently bought the car for its looks ? Well can't fault her their ,deep red with a fleck in the paint 20k on the clock registered sept 2010. The car is immaculate and looks like it came out the showroom yesterday.

Anyhow after an hour I knew the car was mine and did the deal on the spot :) pick the car up in the morning , no sleep for me tonight feel like a kid again

I was the very same, grew up following and owning the V-tec motors, never heard of the mps until one of my mates brought it to my attention.

I too had read the uk reviews on it so was a bit sceptical at first but after my first test drive from Turnbulls mazda in york I put a deposit straight away on my mps (2010 model in white) I loved it that much!

It gobsmacked me and still suprises me after 5 months!! Beware though these buggers on here will make you spend and spend on mods :D

Thanks, feels like I just passed my test again and the toys on board are very impressive never really had a car where their is nothing left to buy so may have to spend on mods lol. That said will take me a while to handle the performance again as I never truly realised how much mid range torque these cars have and already discovered in an hour people do not realise how quickly you are upon them and was compensating for them not seeing me in time ,sounds daft but had to hit the brakes once or twice and was not even near full throttle or driving erratic but the car makes up such ground so quickly people were pulling in front of me not expecting me to be their lol that feeling has been missing for such a long time :)

It's all very......effortless to get the mazda to shift, you will also find that it torque steers nowhere near as much as the journo's make out.
Id recommend also switching the DSC off once you are used to it, makes a world of difference when driving

Welcome to the site. Sounds like the mps has already made a good impression with you. Get some pics up when you can.
