Hi All, A brief bit about me and my car on my first post, I saw and heard an mps and wanted one a few years ago, it's not a every ones got one golf gti, or a cupra r (my bro had one and it was ok) or a florescent focus st. So when the trusty S40 T4 died i had managed to scrimp and save a enough to purchase my sunlight silver 07 plate baby! unfortunately a very kind old man decided that he was not so keen on my car and gave her a bloody nose to which there was no recovery, i have now a cosmic blue replacement which is what i need your help with guys, i have a corksport sri+tip on the way and forge bpv but what i'm hoping you can help me out with is a bit of advise on a down pipe and exhaust? I'm looking at the ATP decat down pipe but i'm not too sure how to proceed from there, neilhandbury racing in taunton (longlife guy, are they any good?) has offered to do the system for £549 with a sports cat because he says i'll need one to pass MOT? is this correct? Am i better off buying a full turbo back off the shelf like the corksport option from fr&r tuning or a catted down pipe and having an exhaust done from there? sorry for such an intense first post! Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Also found you through google long before i had one!

Welcome mate, I'd personally stay away from FR&R and look elsewhere or even custom for exhaust

Thanks for the kind welcome! I've read that quite a few people have had bad experiences with fr&r but I can't find many other company's supplying Mps parts, I was planning on an ecutek remap+ hpfp internals to go with the downpipe. I see that a lot of you use versatune, how easy is it to use?

The recommended tuners on here are XO, BBR and RS Tuning. The MPS is a funny beast which can be blown by non-MPS specialist tuners. XO have a good stock of tuning parts and good advice.

I see that a lot of you use versatune, how easy is it to use? There is a MPS specialist in Newcastle. http://www.total-mps.co.uk/testthought he site isn't running fully yet, his old site is http://www.xopoer.co.ukHe works along Sure and has 95% of there items in stock. He's on here to as "totalmps" , he's called Gunther. Many on here use Versatune yes, but also, cobb access port is becoming very popular now. Versatune requires a laptop and you to buy the OBD cable and is fixed toy your vehicle vin and CONNOT be sold on. Cobb access port is a device that you DONT need a laptop for. You can plug it into a PC/MAC and get the tune of it, then take the cobb ap to the car and flash it with the OBD cable that COMES WITH IT. You can use a laptop too though if you want and do it from in the car. So going off that, if I wasn't mapped already I'd get COBB. Cobb AP CAN be sold on to another car, = money back. WINNER

There is a closer place, RStuning in leeds or even closer is BBR, if I was starting again, I'd go down the versatune or cobb access prt route. Yeah xopower site isn't so great, his new site should be up and running soon, he sells cobb access ports Best bet is go on sures american website, and gunther at total-mps will stock it. Keep us posted.

Get a 3" eBay downpipe, take it to an exhaust place and get them to weld a cat in and fit it then custom make a 3" system. It'll work out much cheaper than buying ots parts from America.
