Hi all,

I'm a new member in Birmingham who is picking up my 3 MPS tomorrow morning.

Its an 09 plate in red, and as far as I can tell its in pretty much immaculate condition. I've come to the Mazda from a 58 plate Audi TT-S (I needed a more practical car), but I've already been having a good look round the potential modifications. As far as my wife's concerned I'm now driving a family car, so I'll probably be able to get away with murder when it comes to buying new bits and bobs.

Looking forward to getting the car and being part of the club!

Cheers,

Neil

Thanks all. Yes, the TTS was huge fun- I took it to Shark Performance over in Mansfield for a remap / induction / turbo back Milltek, which saw about 285bhp, give or take.

With any luck I'll enjoy the MPS just as much. You'd imagine you would get sick of modifying cars as you got older, but apparently not in my case.

I fancy a TTS next possibly depending on work as If I get a job closer with no travelling then I'll get something daft and get our lass something same size as mps but cheaper lol

Well I picked it up today and first thoughts are pretty positive. One thing is bugging me a little though, and thats to do with it feeling a little strangled. Like it wants to rev but is being held back a little? Reading on here the standard airbox seems to be a limitation- presumably swapping this out for something like a Sure Aeros / K&N Typhoon would help with that.

:welcome: aboard, stock tune has restrictions on it
Get a Cobb AP, leave it standard and see what you think once tuned... If you want more power get more mods
(Just my input & exactly what I would do if starting out again)

Agree with Kev. Is starting again I'd definitely start with COBB AP or Versatune.

A Tune on stock car can take you up to 280-290+ bhp

Thanks for the quick responses, appreciate it.

Although the absolute first thing I'll be buying is an Xcarlink!
