Read on here for half an hour then make a list.

You may need to call your bank in the morning!

Do you want to make the engine more powerful, or the suspension or brakes better, or change the way it looks or improve the sound system?

Edited to add : WELCOME. We are a friendly bunch. Tell us a bit about yourself and your new pride & joy

The golden rule is not to start with a figure in mind. Start with what you want to achieve from behind the wheel. After all, two cars, both producing 300bhp, might drive completely differently. What matters is how the car feels to you and how driveable it is. It's actually very easy to get 300bhp out of an agressive map on an MPS but that doesn't mean it's a good thing since the MPS engine is all about torque and in-gear performance. It's not about peak power but about grunt. And simply mapping a car for 300bhp means it'll be lean and the power will be way up in the rpm band so you'll be out of the efficiency zone of the K04 turbo and possibly doing damage. No point in having 300bhp available at 6500rpm if your car naturally loses efficiencies over 5000rpm ... which it does.

Get an induction kit because it's cheap and frees up the car somewhat - and it sounds nice too Hold back until someone's guinea-pigged the MOT after removing cats to make choices on the exhaust but as a minimum you might want a 2nd decat since it helps the turbo spool faster and sounds nicer from outside - and again, it's cheap Then if that's all you want to do get it remapped or buy a Hypertech/Versatune and enjoy it
