Hi all. I'm currently in the market for a 6mps. Been looking around and there seem to be some good low milers around. I'm basically after some advice and help in what to look for and what not to. Any help is appreciated I'm located on the A1 just south of Huntingdon and would prefer a red one

Hello and to the forum. See you are looking for the right colour You want to hear the engine start from cold ensuring no strange noises are happening near the oil filler cap area - check youtube for Mazdaspeed VVT noise. These engines are naturally noisy anyhow so can be a toughie to hear. The VVT problem is not a very common issue tbh, just ensure oil changes have been carried out. Smokey turbo at idle is another issue - let the car sit for a good 10mins and see if a smoke show appears. I have not experienced any of these issues in 70,000 miles of ownership so I class them as very reliable.

Thing is though good examples of the early ones are few and far between now. You may be better to pay the extra little bit in tax for a newer, better example.

Agreed, you'll be looking for rocking hires sh*t I think. But I hope you do find one though.
