I'm back! I actually bought an 06 Premier CTR, couldn't move away from VTEC, it's too addictive.

Although I am now again considering a 3MPS after finding out I'll be having another child so 5 doors is going to make life much easier.

The thought of 300bhp with a remap and decent induction is also very tempting. :D

I know mate, didn't think we'd be having another so soon though! :)

I'm going to go back over the thread and see what to look out for when buying, there's some real bargains to be had on these things.

Recognise your car from CTRO, just moved from an EP3 prem to my Aero 3 MPS myself. It's a much more 'grown up' car if you will, quieter, comfier, better equipped and quicker (and by that I mean due to the extra torque and the way the power is delivered feels much quicker than the CTR). The aero model handles very nicely, and unless you're a complete track addict I don't think you'd find it too disimilar from the CTR on a quick back road blast (certainly is a little heavier though).

All in all, I'm very happy with the MPS, and it certainly feels like a step up from the CTR (always nice when changing cars).

Yeah mate, I'm a very active member over there... I have a 2 year old and another on the way so I think 'grown up' is what I need. I have test drove one and it felt good, just the noise and revs of the CTR in VTEC are awesome.

What model did you go for?

I'm looking at 2008/2009 models at around the 9-10k mark.... Can't believe how cheap they are for all the extras/toys you get compared with an equivalent CTR.

Yeah you'll certainly miss the noise and need for revs and the gear shift, whilst perfectly fine in the MPS, isn't anywhere near the feel of the CTR.

I ended up with a 08 Black Aero 3 MPS, 24k miles, FSH, for just under 9K. For the money, I really don't believe there's much else that can compete.

Where did you buy from mate? There's a few on Pistonheads and I've PM'd a dude on here about a nice white one. Is there anywhere else you could recommend?

Certainly not that many about - can also try dare I say Autotrader.

I ended up travelling from Bristol to Debry to get mine. I think with the rarity of this car, you'll need to be prepared to travel (I was initially looking at a couple in Scotland!).

Yeah, lol.... The guy selling the white one is in Ireland, I don't mind travelling for the correct car though.

There's a 57 plate at a Mazda dealer with 35k for 8k, looks quite good, would more than likely come with a warranty too.

Very nice hatches the ctr's seem to hold money quite well.

Modded mps vs modded ctr...

That was pretty close tbf... Did the MPS creep ahead though? That's an FN2 as well, considerably slower than an EP3..
