If you give mazda a bell and give them the reg they should be able to tell you all about the car mate :)
I travelled from Newcastle to Sheffield to pickup my 6.

Thanks - just noticed they have removed the plates so can't get the reg. I think I'll have to give up on that one - either it's an Aero (which we don't want), or it isn't and has been made to look like one, in which case who knows what else is fishy about it? Appreciate the advice anyway!

Why don't you want the Aero mate?
Just ask them for the reg if they fuss about it walk away

Happy to sacrifice a bit of handling and looks to get a slightly more comfortable ride - mainly to please the wife!

Ah right I see, my 6 is on the standard springs and tbh I find it a bit too sloshy comfort wise and will be looking at changing the springs to a 30mm drop

My plan is to find a Mazda3 2.0 Sport to test drive more locally, I assume it has the same suspension as the non-Aero MPS, then if we are happy with how that rides we can travel further afield to get the MPS.

Sorry for the late update but last month I finally took the plunge and am now the happy owner of a Mk I silver MPS (non-Aero) - only had to go to Newbury to find it. Was a bit concerned with a tiny puff of smoke from the exhaust when revving it after 10 mins idling, but checked back here and it was nothing like the stuff others have posted so don't think it's anything to worry about. My only concern is that the engine does sometimes sound a bit rattly when idling, so wondering if it is the VVT issue people have talked about? Taking it to a Mazda main dealer tomorrow to get that checked out (yes, I know I should have before buying it!), I can post pics if you like but not much to see as it's totally unmodified (and will probably remain so).

Once it gets a clean bill of health I'm hoping to go to a track day at Hullavington airfield on 11 July to see what it can really do.

Hi mate welcome to the forum.

They are rattly engines tbh! Mine has done 24k and it's a bit noisy they all are.

Vvt you will hear more on start up but if it's ticking loudly on the left hand side of the engine it prob is and needs changing.

Enjoy the car,get a few mods on the car and they really are quick!
