Agreed I had no idea of the price point was so low on these. I'm also still keeping the RX8 at the back of my mind because they are stupid cheap as well (whats wrong with them ? no seriously its been bugging me ! are the tips still useless and wear away as on the FD's ?).

Unluckily for you lot the Monaro is still holding its value so well that I couldn't quite stretch to it :handbags:

So I've landed on your doorstep :ban:

The one I'm off to look at only has MOT till sept as its a 56 plate I'm guessing its seen one MOT thus far. Would it be cheeky to ask the seller to book it for an MOT on the day I come down (I'd pay?). theres something that always sits at the back of my mind when people flog with only a little MOT and tax left.

RX8's have little niggles that non-enthusiasts / people who dont know about cars do not like eg:-

uses lots of oil - which is normal = frightens people off from buying as they wonder "how good the previous person has been at topping up".

transmission tunnel is intrusive in the back if you have kids and you want to get the kids out on one side of the road have to climb over - wife didnt like that me not a prob.

Engine flooding problems - mums taking kids to school tend to flood the engine as it hasnt had time to warm up.

High fuel consumption - lowish low down torque

people dont understand the engine.

Me personally I love em and it would not bother me on any of the points so long as I had a good warranty

oh and the general consensus is that they are quite expensive to tune

big plus for me is RWD! :loopy:

Find it slightly amusing you see the MPS as a sensible car :) - That said I was driving a zafhira up till a couple of weeks ago.....

AB pops on occasionally. I thin there are 5 of us from SXOC on here now, we may catch up with the MX5 lot eventually...

Trust me it in my other drive I'd ripped out everything from aircon to radio you name it I'd stripped it. This will be like a limo in comparison. Hopefully not having a 2 way diff either should mean it doesn't try to kill me every time I forget its there and lift off the gas too suddenly  This is as sensible as it gets !

Bizzare I thought the MX-5 would result in much of this kind of abuse from former SXOC members :handbags: :kick: :D

That's the amazing thing about the 6MPS. It can do sensible (put your granny in the back and she will be quite happy if you keep the revs down), or you can throw it around corners and get that lovely exhaust noise at higher revs. It will also cruise on motorways with very low noise levels with 5 people and luggage.
