Just come from mazda after service of recently bought Mazda 6 mps
:(
Needed
Cat Back exhaust as hole in centre pipe- with temp fix
Worn timing chain to excess
n/sf and o/s/f shockers-leaking
n/s/f and o/s/f lower arms as bushes worn
n/s/f and o/s/r lateral link bushes worn
disks and pads all round
both rear brake callipers seized
n/s/f and o/s/f wheel bearings need replacing
all in all not a good day Mazda Bolton quoted just short of £4900 to fix above.
Rang the dealer who I bought it from 3 weeks ago less than 300 miles driven,he advised only engine and poss shocks covered under warranty-will advise before monday of action to take.
Having said that its just had a full 72000 miles dealer service at an additional cost of £298.00 before they told me of the faults.
Any advice?

Theirs certainly alot wrong their mate, the garage are liable for everything on that list as the car is not fit for purpose otherwise, the car should of had a full check by the garage before it was even put on the forecourt, get it back to them with the list of things wrong with it and tell them to get it sorted or your going to take it to trading standards, warranty or not they should sort it as as i said earlier theyve sold you something knowing that its not fit for purpose, dont take no shit, go in their and kick some serious arse :kick:

Sounds to me that they sold you a car that would fail an MOT.That has got to be wrong and possibly an offense.

The law is quite simple and straight forward with issues this. The garage is responsible for ALL the defects to the car WHETHER or NOT you were given any warranty as it does not affect your STATUTORY RIGHTS! :nono:

You MUST go back to them to protest. :smash: Also you bought the car because you were led to believe it was fit for purpose as advised by the specialist acting in his professional capacity.

Thanks for all your inputs. Email sent to them today advising most of above comments made.
Hopefully a positive fix will come from this, will let you know.
Really don't want to give the car back as I really like what it has to offer when things are right with it.

The Mot runs out end of feb, unsure how all the defects could have occurred in such a short time as with the problems noticed surely this shouldn't have passed an MOT

MOTs only count for that specific day, been down that road before, however, Benz is right. Any object sold, no matter what it is, is sold under the terms of your statutory rights. Which means the object must be fit for purpose, be of reasonable standard and last a reasonable amount of time.... A car should last at least a good few years! The law is very much on your side in this situation!

Given the numerous things wrong with it, if I was in your position I would want them to take it back, be given a full refund and move on and buy an mps that is up to standard.

Yep, they're totally responsible for ALL the faults that's by law.
As mentioned already too, I'd want my £ back and look for another one.
