Oh I will definitely post up pictures of the 3 when I get it. How much should an 08 MPS Aero with cruise be worth? £8k from an indie @ 36k miles seems a little steep. Glass/Parkers reckon closer to £6k.

Here's the Civic:

i paid £8k for mine back in Dec2011 with 40ishk on the clock if i remember correctly, so £8k for one now does seem a little pricey.

mine is an 08 Aero with cruise

As Shaun says, is it an Aero?

Id be expecting it to be closer to £7000. What colour is it?

The aero models seem to be holding their price, Rare cars body kit/spoiler/mirrors all lowered standard and no more aeros being made I think they have hit the lowest depreciation price, Can't always go on glass/parkers guide as it all about demand at the time, and now some seem to be hitting over £10k at some stealers Ross

Personally, i dont think any Mk1 is worth more than £9,500.

To be that value, it would need to have <20,000 miles, and must be an 09 plate with facelifted goodies.

I sold my 09 plate with 30k miles for £9,000 back in September. That was a very very clean car, full dealer service history, and some tasteful extras (black suede head liner and black pillars, to match the facelift interior, rare RX8 PZ OZ alloys with a brand new standard set included, tints)

I thought it was a fair price, and i only lost £1,000 on it over 18 months and 15,000 miles.

The Parkers/Glasses guide is awful for the Mazdas, always has been. They tell me that my 1 year old MK2 with 5k miles should be worth around £13,000. If you believe that, you need your head checking

A Mk1 advertised over £10k, isnt worth bothering with IMO. If i was buying one again, id want a low miles facelift, and i certainly wouldn't pay any more than £9000.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah, I'm looking at the Aero's, although if a non-aero at a good price appeared I'd look at that too. I'm looking at all the colours apart from the Cosmic blue, it's not really my kinda thing. The one's I am looking at are these:

http://www.orchardgarageherts.co.uk/use ... 9504379320 (£8k)

http://www.mazdausedcarlocator.co.uk/us ... mazda3-mps (£9k)

Thanks for looking, but I'm not a big fan of the blue.

Well just a bit of info for you:

The Cosmic Blue Mica (actually grey :smash: ), got dropped in 2007/2008. Any cars in that colour with a 58+ plate are just late registered ones that have sat around for a little while.

In the middle of 2008, there was a facelift model brought out, with the following changes:

Shadow Chrome alloys, in place of plain silver
Piano Black dash trim, in place of a satin finished silver
Cruise 100% standard, was an option in earlier models
Aux Jack and 12V socket in armrest
White needles on the dials in place of red ones
Chrome inner door handles, in place of silver ones
Black alcantara seat centres, instead of a grey mesh like material
MP3 ready 6 CD changer, (earlier models couldn't play MP3 CD's)

That is the majority of the differences, and i believe a facelift is a nicer place to be, and also should hold value slightly better as they are the rarest now (roughly 150 facelift Aeros in the UK). Most of the facelifts are Aeros, but there are a few non aero facelifts out there!

Also, Crystal White Pearlescent only got introduced in 58+ as it replaced the cosmic grey.

Wow, thanks for all the info, so do you think that the Crystal White Pearlescent one would be a good one to go for then? The one from the Mazda dealer? Even if it seems a little pricey?

No problem.

It seems a nice car, but id be looking to get it down to £8700. Go have a look if it isnt too far from you! The plus point to buying from mazda, and it being approved used, is that you get a years mazda warranty, which will be alot more use than a third party warranty!

Also, its bang on 36,000 miles, which is means it is due a service. Make sure that has been done by them as well. And check the alloys for bubbling. They are notorious for corroding, and Mazda will replace them under warranty. Obviously, the car is now out the 3year warranty, but it could be negotiated in the deal.

And, tax on the MK1 is £460 or so for a year, so getting them to include a years tax in their, could make a good deal.

Thanks, I've phoned the garage but no one is available (typical) It's just over an hours drive away. Finding the time to go and look is very difficult due to working hours.

EDIT: On closer inspection, the white on the bumpers/skirts looks different to the paint.

Plastic and metal will look different. Will be the same on any car tbh.
