Hi all,

Been contemplating on getting a new car for a while. had a Merc C180 Sport until a couple weeks ago when it was stolen from my driveway!! : vmad :

Anyway - I've had a Civic Type R (ED3) and a 200sx (S13) in the past. Was thinking Civic Type R again (FN2 this time though) but see the mazda3 MPS and I really like the idea of the extra 50odd BHP under my right foot.

Looking to spend about £10k on one - loving them in white especially.

If your very quick, read this and contact him before he sell's it stupidly cheap to the dealers, it's had ££££'s spent doing a forged engine, but you will need to be doing the deal like....tomorrow!

I wouldn't have been able to do a deal at the weekend anyway as I was busy this weekend.

Looking at taking one for a test drive in Northampton this weekend. Seen a red one in Wallasey that looks good but looking for a white one ideally. Only ones I have seen are a little out of my price range....might have to see if I can barter with the dealerships.

Never ceases to amaze me how far ppl travel for an MPS. I wonder what the top distance is.

Had servicing etc done at Windsors (Wallasey). Good service manager, if it is still Mark.

I live in Belfast but have travelled to the mainland on numerous occasions for cars, I thought I would be doing the same for the MPS but thankfully one is for sale not far away at present :)

HI. I notice you mention taking a test drive in Northampton i hope i am not to late to give you some personal advice. DO NOT go to the big main dealer i travelled to them and my experience as i mentioned before was awful. By all means seek out an MPS mine is white and its great but i am sure there are better dealerships who actually care about their customers and do not leave you with nasty surprises once you have made a deal.

Update on the test drive......loved it!! Had a test drive in a CTR straight after and ride and handling wise there wasn't much difference....power wise though the MPS was so much faster. Pick up across the rev range was so much better.

It's just a shame the service from the dealership has been woeful. I had an appointment at 10am and granted I was 10 minutes late but when I got there the sales guy I was meeting was with another couple on a test drive. When he got back we were kept waiting until about 10:45am. By this time another sales woman we had been talking to could see we were getting the hump so took us out in the car. She was great, no hard sales push just chatted to us normally and answered any questions we had.

Got back to the dealership and met with the sales guy. He took our car that we were looking to PX out for a quick spin and we happened to mention the one in Wallasey we had seen that was a lot cheaper. He checks it out on Autotrader and then rings Wallasey. As time was ticking on we suggested we went to Honda and he prepares the price for when we get back. When we got back he was out with another customer and didn't have anything prepared. Spoke to the same woman that took us on a test drive and told him we prefered the MP but the price needed to be right so said for him to email us the pricing.

No email that day. Had a missed call on my phone from them on Sunday so phoned back and left a message for him to call me.....hasn't called back.

I really want the car but I reluctant to do business with him now - I don't want him getting the commission - would rather it went though this other sales woman.

Phoned the one in Wallasey and he had literally just gotten off the phone to someone from Manchester who was going to look at it. Phoned me back later that day to say the deal was done subject to finance but he'd phone me again if it didn't work out.

I'd like one before the end of the month if possible as tax and MOT run out in June on the C2 VTS I am PX'ing.

That's a no from them then! Only willing to budge £250 on their price and offered me £300 less for mine than most other garages have.

Windsors may have given you a good price for the C2 as they are Citreon dealers also.

I wouldn't of given them my money, yes he is buisy but a phone calls not hard thing to do just to keep the customer content.
