Hi new to the forum trying to get some info on my Mps it has a loud tapping noise from the top end near number 1 cylinder and has a slight miss also done a compression test and all is good I’m lost and haven’t a clue

Tapping from the intake side is normal, it’s the fuel pump. If from the other side then it’s likely the VVT needs changing

Hi thanks for the reply it’s really loud tapping mate never done it befor more of a really loud rattle from the top left side of the engine

Top left as you look at the engine (drivers side) ?
