Recently took the plunge and traded my Vectra 2.0T (and a few grand) for a 3MPS Aero. Bought the car from Brighton and drove it from there to Holyhead, ferry to Dublin and then from there up to Belfast and I have to say the car really impressed me over the 500 or so miles I covered in just over 24 hours. I have wanted one since a guy in my town bought one about 4 years ago, but I had to wait until I was old enough that the insurance companies didn't laugh when I tried to get a quote - 25 seems to have done the trick! Hopefully I will have years of trouble free driving, but if I don't I am confident that there is enough knowledge on here to help me with most things - it was thanks to reading several topics on here over the past few months that I plucked up the courage to take the plunge and finally get one. The car itself is a completely standard 2007 3MPS Aero, and I think it will be staying that way for a while. Of course any feedback or advice is welcome. R

Thanks for all the feedback.
I want to keep the car as original as possible - since this is how the previous (and only) owner has kept her.
I do however want to change a couple of things to make it more "my car".
I have wind deflectors on order.... other than that I am just thinking of some very subtle changes.
I like how she sits so I don't think I need to worry about suspension etc, but I think things like the clear fog lamp at the rear and slightly darkened badges look smart on other 3mps's I have seen. Light window tints have also always been a favourite of mine - but I don't want to take away too much of the cars originality.
Anything else I should be considering??
Also my drivers wing mirror has a rusty bolt at the top that broke the first time I washed the car, but I think a local engineering firm near me can make me up a new one - maybe a few so I can replace the other side before it breaks too?
From looking at the service manual and receipts it doesn't look like my car has had the VVT fault rectified or the engine mounting bolt that I have seen a lot of people mention. Is this something I should get the local Mazda dealer to look at? The car was sold to me with a 12 month Mazda Approved warranty but I have my doubts they will cover any of that on an '07 car.
Again, any feedback or advice is welcome.
R
