Hi all, Sorry I posted in the wrong part before finding this bit I am looking at a 2010 3 MPS with around 65k on the clock. I have "now" read the guide (very useful) and was wondering how prone are the mk2's to the timing chain, turbo and rust issues? Is there anything else out of the ordinary I need to be on the look out for? Thank you!

Post up the advert you've been looking at - someone here may know the car itself and be able to provide further information!

I don't really want to post on here then lose it to someone else - have found it quite difficult to find a nice example if that makes sense :P I'm in the negotiating state at the moment

As far as I'm aware, timing chain/turbo/rust issues on a Mk2 are a lot less common than on early Mk1's or 6 MPS's. (If I'm wrong, someone please correct me ) As for anything else, Duncs post in the guide pretty much covers everything else, so I'd echo that and also the usual car basics when buying a second-hand car. As Dave said, if you have a link post it up, it may be a previous members car etc

Don't worry, the vast majority of us already have an MPS...... nobody will gazump you (except maybe gronow who's looking to replace his after it got written off)
Still, you should be fine posting a link for further advice, as it'll give us more to look at and make suggestions on...

Haha fair enough, I don't have access to the link until this evening - can't get on certain websites at work :( It's on eBay if you are interested to search and do the leg work for me Only white 10 plate on there as far as I am aware. Will appreciate all advice
