Been lurking for a while and thought it was about time I pitched in. Bought an MPS 3 Aero, 08, Cosmic Blue in January. Think the performance to price ratio is excellent, shame about the TAX! I'm about to spend a chunk of money I can't afford on Mods and would like your opinions please. K&N typhoon (best price i've seen is on FR Tuning) TIP (best price i've seen is on FR Tuning) 2nd de-cat from total MPS I will get the car mapped in January when the warranty runs out. If you know anywhere I can save a few quid on these items i'd eternally gratefull! Was going to go the JBR route but can't be bothered with the shipping hassle if things go wrong

to ! People seem to love the sound of the K&N, but I would go for the Sure or JBR. Ask Gunther for a package price on the Sure Aeros/Sidewinder and the second decat?? Don't forget that the FR&R price is exc VAT when comparing...

Hi There to Stay away from FR&R- there are far more reliable places. Have a look at the traders section on here.

Get your sri and tip from jbr (called the power path stage 2) best value for money and high quality. As for a second decat pm ross27 on here as he makes them for around 90quid I think maybe less then get total mps to map it for 320 quid. If you had a mk2 you would need fuel pump internals before the map more than likely

Good thinking Batman, I'll look into it.
"Stay away from FR&R- there are far more reliable places. Have a look at the traders section on here"
Thanks mate I'll take a browse.
I seem to be suffering from smoke inhalation at idle sometimes - it's very intermittent. I've taken it to the dealer to get it rectified and let it sit at idle for a while but nothing (typical!) They say they can't do anything about it if they can't witness it first hand. Any ideas?

Was planning to do this originally. Is it worth getting the bypass hose as well if I'll be paying for shipping anyway?

Hi and welcome to the forum mate.
As others have said your better of staying away from them as there are more reliable company's out there. I've got the corksport Sri and tip and sounds good. The tip you buy doesn't have to be the same brand. Also as readie said pm Ross about decat pipe.

Keep an eye on it but if is white smoke and goes quick and no smell then it could be just build up or condensation or where you have washed the car day before or ground moisture sitting in there. If it is white/bluey colour hangs around like this it is the turbo and will smell big time

Thanks Remix.
Nothing like that thankfully! Just bellows out a bit when the car has been driven and then sits at standstill for a while, soon as i pull away it goes. As you say hopefully just a bit of build up now and then.
I've just ordered the JBR pathway 2 despite my initial worries about shipping/problems ;)

If you send them an email asking to mark down the value for you, you will pay less in customs tax mate

Hello and For import, I stipulate to the seller to mark it as gift item. They are exempt from tax I believe.

Cheers guys. I've asked JBR to mark the cost down and they're happy to do so I'm going to ask Total MPS to sort me out the decat, up-rated tmic and map in January when the warranty runs out. A fair few of the members on here seem to up-grade the engine mounts etc. Is the improvement (if any) worth the cost?
