Hi All

My Name is Mike and im 27 and from Stockport

I currently drive a 2zz engined 2006 Toyota MR2 Roaster TF300, after a few summer months of mulling over what car to get to replace Mister'2 (Before the '2 i went through a owning a succession of VTECS including a 97 Civic Type R and a DC2 Teggy Type R and an FN2 Civic Type R) a White MKII Mazda 3 MPS caught my eye sat in the trafford centre car park opposite where to I had parked one summers eve.

I didnt really know much (if anything) about the 3 MPS as it seems to be an overlooked choice so did a bit of research and reading reviews etc so I got a test drive at stockport RRG a few weeks ago.

After the test drive I can honestly say that after owning what are regarded as some of the best FWD drivers cars in the honda's I was shocked and amazed at just how good the MPS was, the ooomph was unbelievable and the spec that the car comes with puts most top end Bimmers and Audi's to shame!

The car was exciting for me and fun because if i compare it to my old FN2 CTR (Forget the MR2 its a completely different kind of car for comparing) the CTR felt like small scalpel sharp precision driving tool whereas the MPS....well it felt more like a hammer, a big blunt power hammer and i just loved it :)

I am hopefully looking at purchasing a 2-3 year old 3 MPS before the end of October and after reading post up on here about tuning as soon as i get it then its going straight for a remap :D

Once i hopefully purchase one in the upcoming weeks I will post some piccies up on here!

Looking forward to the good times ahead

welcome. in away its a good thing there overlooked as it keeps them rare. i didnt have a clue waht one was utill i test drove one. fell in love stright away.

its great when people like your self dont listen to the reviews and actually gave one ago because most just dont even try. and with few simple mods your rocking 300bhp to boot.

Good luck in your search and if you like modding your in the right place.

Thank for the welcome guys

I much prefer hand one test drives as you really get a feel for the car.

In stockport we are literally 15 minutes away from some awesome hilly road like the A57 Snakes pass and after driving the car in partially damp conditions on my fav set of twisties (The A626 Glossop-Marple road) i loved it

The way the Journalists bang on about Torque Steer is utter bull, yes the thing torque steers but not half as much as people make out and certainly no where near as much as my Bro's Disastra VXR
