Hi all...

I have a bit of an issue with my 2006 Mazda 6 MPS....and wonder if the problem has an easy/obvious solution

It had a service last week and from running very well with no problems whatsoever it now seems to judder quite badly under acceleration above 4,000rpm. Under normal driving, cruising speeds and gentle acceleration all is fine...in fact I drove 180 miles back from Wales today and with cruise-control on at 75-80 mph all was ok. However, any kind of fun results in an apparent loss of power and quite heavy juddering.

The garage who did the service is not a Mazda specialist and has changed the spark plugs already but to me it seems more like a fuel/air mix issue or turbo problem....again I need to stress that the car ran perfectly well before the service.

I haven't checked with a franchised dealer yet because of serious problems I encountered with the Mazda dealer I bought the car from.

Any suggestions greatfully appreciated

Regards

Chris

Sounds exactly like what I had a week or so ago. Turned out to be plugs.

The fact that a non-Mazda specialist has done your plugs (same as me again - will do them myself from now on!) leads me to conclude that you've got incorrectly gapped plugs in. What plugs did you put in? :)

Read =THIS= thread if you can be arsed. Better still, just go outsid and put your old plugs back in and be amazed that your car works again :D

I'd say incorrect spark plugs fitted... Lots of similar issues lately and spark plugs have been the problem.
Find out what ones they fitted and get a new set of standard ones fitted

And make sure they're gapped correctly! There've been a tonne of incorrectly gapped plugs reccently and they should be 0.8mm :)

agree with the plugs suggestion, either badly gapped or the wrong type.

Just found this on StreetUnit. The first review post raises issues about the coil packs and springs, which I don't understand, but it makes an important point about hesitation etc.
