thanks guys

think its prob becoz for the past year and a half i've driven a small car with 2 seats, which is why my friends call it the "unsociable car"
.... so the idea of a big car for a change really appeals to me.

combine that with its pretty much on par with the s2000 for speed (btw anyone ever had the [legal} chance of racing an s2000 to compare speed????? I'm not just some fanny I actualy do abit of racing)
and the 4wd aspect of it aswell makes it a winner

the s2000 seems quite rare now, I cant really remember the last time i saw one locally to me.......

Hi mate,

I sold my beloved 04 S2000 in March for a Mica black 6 MPS. I paid £20,500 for my S2000 in Nov 05 and sold due to an addition to the family. It was a very difficult decision and I am still in 2 minds as to whether it was the right one - but not for a moment is that down to any issues with the 6MPS because it's a brilliant car with a fantastic engine and is loads of fun.....No the issue is I am a die hard S2000 fan and I miss it and one day I will have another one.

You won't be disappointed with the performance of the 6MPS - I think its probably a bit quicker than the S but its hard to quantify, it surely has a sh*tload more torque but remember to change gear far earlier than you do in your S! Probably the biggest disadvantage is that it is a heavy car and requires more man handling to get it round the bends, it grips well tho - weight transference under braking can be a bit frighting at first too but you get used to it. It also drinks a fair bit more fuel than the S2k when driven in a spirited fashion - again due to weight I guess.

If you want any more specific feedback on the differences between the two let me know!

Hope you find a good MPS - it took me 6 months to find the one I got.

Oh hi and Welcome Lovely s2k!

I wouldn't say that, I hard a lard barge rover 600 when I was 18, it did admittedly have 25-30kk spent on it and had a 2.2 stroker with 468bhp but it was still an old mans saloon,. intact tarts what attracted me to it, it was the last thing people expected to be able to go screaming off at some serious pace:D

I utterly battered an S2000 last year in Cumbria. Lovely day near Ribblehead going up towards Hawes. I suppose he may just have been a really rubbish driver, but a healthy MPS should take an S2000 in a straight line 'in-gear' due to the vastly superior mid-range torque. As for handling, well the MPS will be heavier and less agile, but there are suspension mods that can fix most of the 'problems'.

Hi Steven and welcome aboard

Check this link out...it gives the average data for the S2K and 6 head to head.

http://www.zeperfs.com/en/duel1235-1391.htm

The S2K is slightly quicker (on average) for the 80-180kmh (50-110mph) but the 6 shades the accelerations from 0.
It's the flexibility that shows the 6's true class...being able to pretty much pull away in any gear. As you say the 4wd is a plus too especially given the winters we've had the last couple of years.

As your friends have said, the S2K (like the Audi TT, Porsche Boxter, Nissan 350Z et al) are impractical but with the 6 you get the best of both worlds...Headroom, boot space, passenger space and 5 doors without compromising on the performance you're used to.

Good luck with the hunt.

Plus when I had an S2000 it was absolutely awful on fuel if you booted it about due to the high revs. I rarely got into the 20s! MPS has already done mid 20s for me.
