Hi everyone out there. Not sure how I haven't found this site before

I was new to Mazda until buying a 3 saloon 1.6 in 2005 before craving more power and trading in for a year old 3 MPS (Cosmic Blue) in March 2008. It's been an absolute riot to drive but I was planning to maybe change next year.

However....Leamington Mazda were offering a new 3 MPS demonstrator with only 100 miles for £4k off list price. I arranged a test drive, thought it much improved over the previous car,and did the deal with mine as part-ex.

I've had it a week now, including a trip to Snowdonia last Sunday, and am chuffed to say the least.

I was reading the thread about how rare the car is and the only other one I've spotted (MK2) was a demo at the Redditch dealer.

Being an outdoors type of person I'm often either in Snowdonia, the Elan Valley or Brecon Beacons at the weekend (weather permitting) so I'm looking forward to introducing the beast to the tasty roads in Wales.

Take care all

Welcome. If you think that a Mk11 3MPS is rare, try spotting another 6MPS. Funnily enough, the last one I saw was in that Cadar Idris car park at the beginning of July.

Foxy,

Cadair Idris is one of the best climbs in Wales, well worth it for the view from the summit although I haven't done it since last year.

Very entertaining blast along the A458 from the Shrewsbury by-pass and then over the A470.

I haven't seen a 6 MPS for ages but then spotted one in the Boots head office car park outside Nottingham last week. I was timing trains between Derby and Nottingham all day as that's part of my job.

You must mean the A4069 Llang....(sorry haven't got a map with me to remember the name) to Brynamen (or similar).

It's been on Top Gear,Fifth Gear and Performance Car magazine (now discontinued) where it was named best road in Wales. They took an Evo X over it.

I decided to find out for myself and went there last November so not the best conditions. I did two trips in each direction and had lunch at the day centre in Brynamen in between.

I gave it about 75% of what I'd consider my maximum as I really didn't want to write the car off

Great road though and really quiet. Getting there from Abergavenny along the A40 is a pretty interesting road in itself.
