Hey guys

I'm looking at a 2010 Mazda 3 mps fsh with about 45k on it.

Problem is I don't know much about them, from reading

Check turbo, timing chain, rear shocks

When is the chain due for service? Any other hidden issues

Cheers jake

Welcome to the forum.

The chain doesn't get serviced bud. It's supposed to last a life time.

Hi bud. Welcome along. This might help but is for a 6.

Check for smoke from exhaust when cold.

Check for smoke after 10 minute idle. I think crank case pressure builds on Idle putting pressure on turbo seals cashing smoke if they're leaking.

Chain is lifetime part but early ones were Shit, check for chain slap/noises as thwyre prone to failure.

Rust on early 6's. Think the 3 was ok.

Aircon susceptible to failure - holes in compressors can leaky hoses.

History is useful. After 2007 you won't get a book iirc as it's all electronic. Just call Mazda with the vin (not reg. Has to be vin) and they'll look it up.

Driver bolster wear.

But I'm no expert. Use the search button bud!
