I'm Matt From Epsom, car history is Subaru WRX and just sold Colt CZT (197hp).

Want a one owner sub 20k or ex Demo sub 5k miles.
Prefer Red will settle for other

A bit disappointed with test drive of the MPS but I put that down to normal unleaded (Crawley Lifestyle cheapskates). I think a decat pipe, flat panel filter and EcuTek remap will make the throttle response a bit keener and transform the general feel.

TW White in Great Bookham have a 17k one owner 60plate that sounds good and there are two in Northampton I'm phoning about tomorrow.

A couple of quick questions:
Did the 2012 update add DRLs?
What is the Mazda extended warranty like? (ie is a 62 plate with 2 years original warranty any better than a 10 plate with 3 years purchased Mazda warranty?)
I need a dog guard and tow bar is the Mazda dog guard worth the £120 and does anyone have a towbar on a mk2 (towequippe seem to sell a witter)
Is the stereo any good, I know it's Bose but what are your opinions and how does the bluetooth streaming and phone work, will I need aftermarket or not?
I'd like a custom remap and have read all the reviews of BBRs cars in Evo etc should I simply go to them and purchase the panel filter and decat pipe when I get the map done?
Is there an ITG or wet panel filter available - I want best quality but must be easiliy removable!!!

Thanks, I've done a fair bit of trawling but these Qs couldn't be answered easily.

Matt

Personal prefence on which car to buy to be honest. get one that is a couple of years old and has taken the big hit on deprecitation and still has a year warranty left is what i would do.

Don't think they DRL's now but could be wrong
Wouldn't bother with extended warranty if you plan on modding as they will just try to deny your claim imo
if you are going to mod, there are many options other than BBR although they probably are your closest to be fair.
Mods wise i would go Tip,Sri,2nd Decat, HPFP and remap. That is what i have and will not be going anyfurther and is sooo much better than standard

Just to give you an idea, i paid £15k for a 12 plate, that was 11 months old at the time. 5k miles and one owner, which i thought was a great deal.

I think £17k is fairly high if im honest, but the dealers always demand a higher price than a private sale.

Hi & :welcome: to the :mpsoc:

I would buy one from the Dealers & I know for a fact that Godfreys here in Horsham have two 3 MPS MKII's & one of them is Red :D

The Bluetooth Streaming works very well & was the way I listened to most of my music, when I had my MII

Good luck in the search & if you want any help while at Godfreys, send me a PM

The red one looks good but my favourite is a 6month old with 2500 miles at the moment if the finance comes through it is on for £17k but £15,5 is my starting point.
At least now I've got a couple of options.

Matt

13/14 k should secure a decent very low mileage car but the dealers really do charge a premium with these cars.
I was not fussed about the warranty as started modding within two months and I knew I would so it is what it is and if the engine blew then I might make a few bits disappear lol..
Just a 2nd decat and a decent sports exhaust and this car starts coming to life and 300bhp is achievable with limited mods but like the guys on here will tell you after 290bhp you start to spend more and anything above 320bhp and people reckon you are safer forged.
This car has so much torque you really don't need to go down the massive bhp route but a more stable released performance through the gears and this car really is an animal. A good remap and this car is SPECIAL.
