Hi All,

I have just got the money together to get my MPS.

Please can you have a look at the two links below and let me know your initial thoughts? I mean they are £1k difference in price & I do like the look of the 2nd one.

I'd see what brand of tyres are on each, and whether they match; and how many / regularly oil changes have been done.

Based on the information available in the ads i'd score them evenly at the moment. The more expensive one looks to have been serviced every year, but can't see what tyres are on it. The cheaper one can't tell how many services, but does looks to have Maxxis tyres (providing it has 4 of them).

If they both have the same number of services i'd be more interested in the one with the better quality tyres providing they all match.

I don't think you can tell from the ads, other than perhaps looking for bolster wear on the seats. The number of services and the type of tyres can give you an idea of how well the cars have been looked after .

Maxxis make good tyres in general, so i'd be happy with a car that had four matching Maxxis tyres. But if the other option had Continental / Michelin / Dunlop / Pirelli etc then i'd give that car more points than the one with Maxxis for comparative purposes.

If the other car has some random make of tyres like firebridge or goodstone or some other knock off name - i'd be walking away.

I agree with comments about Maxxis tyres. They are an attractive option in that you get a wear related refund if the tyre fails, even for a non repairable puncture.

Hi Richie,

This is going to be my daily so i will probably be racking up around 10k miles a year...

So why 5k miles if the book says 9?

I am looking for a BOV for my first Mod. I want the loudest one possible. Any thoughts?

Also I am going to sign up for a full membership once I get my MPS, but I dont see the point atm, just in case the deal falls through.

Also im a fully fledged member now. I have spoken to a few dealerships regarding the servicing, VVT, Turbo, Oil Changes, Tyres etc. They are coming back to me today.

I spoke to a chap regarding the below MPS:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified ... 9qr&page=1

He said it was owned by someone on here and it has really been taken care of. He didn't know what tyres were on the MPS (I thought that was a little strange). In all his years of selling MPS's which he said was around 60 of them (doubt that is true) this was the cleanest one he has ever seen.

I feel like he sounds a bit dodgy, but the services are there and that, what do you guys think?

Does look a nice example, although I do really like the grey one i mentioned earlier.

Just dont want to be sold a dud but I dont really want to spend over 7k.

Any help is appreciated

The mps likes fresh oil and of course for the price of an oil change if u do it urself is well worth doing morw often than not to keep the engine tip top, i very rarely do over 2k a year in mine so change it once a year, 10k a year id be be doing it twice.

Stay away from blow off valves (the mps doesnt like them) if you want reliable noise first off your best getting internals sorted on the fuel pump (if defo set on a mk2), stage 2 intake and a re-circulation valve to get you started, bit more cash left get the exhaust done as they can be a bit lame standard, hope this helps

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the feedback.

I spoke to a chap in Peterborough about the silver MPS.

He said Dunlops on the rears and Bridgestone Vector Sports on the front.

What are peoples thoughts on these?
