Had an idea of installing some additional interior lighting but not sure how going about it. Bascially my idea is to install some footwell lights and an led in each door pocket pointing upwards to give a nice light on the inside of the door. I've intially thought about using the 12v socket in the centre compartment, getting a male 12v male cig socket with an inbuilt fuse and switch and creating a parallel circuit. Not sure if a series would be suitable. I'd prefer not to tap into any other wires but just to run the led's from the 12v. Probably be a pain hiding the wires and running them thru the door but think it would look quite good and different. Whats your thoughts guys and any ideas/suggestions or more than welcome

are you planning on having the lights just sort of glow inside the door pocket or are you intending on quite a lot of the light batheing the inside of the car from all sides (this would be a bit on an issue at night) also are you going to have them on all the time or just timed ie when you shut the engine off for 2 mins and when you unlock the car until the engine comes on . as for the switches there are loads of ways you could do it either manual or automatic , i guess it just depends on exactly what you want to achieve . i like doing this sort of modifying aswell , not particularily expensive and very unique , loads of work for little gain but always worth it i think good on ya

it shouldnt be too hard to do , you wont need a switch if you are running it off a lighter plug anyway , just unplug it and the four doors can all be run in parralel if you are using leds with a load resistor across them led's are cheap enough from places like maplins , or if you want white ones you may find its cheaper to buy a cheap led torch and remove the stuff you need . thats what i have done in the past

i would think you can have loads of leds straight out of the lighter socket all loaded accordingly as they wont take too much current 50ma or something its just all the wiring you are going to need for the job its going to be quite a task

Door pockets would be a bit of a faff as you'dd need to run all the wires behind the door trim
