Hi guys,

I plan on viewing a 6 this weekend, seems nice!

I would really appreciate a few pointers as to things specific to the 6 MPS I should be looking out for as regards to weak points or things I should be checking when I have a look round it. I'm an experienced mechanic but have no experience of these.

Thanks in advance.

Goose

well there the same engine.

Listen to the left of the engine for vvt rattle. ask if its been check or replaced.
do a long idel test when the cars warm. 10mins atleast. will let you know if the turbo seals are in good order
check to see the rear diff casing/mount isnt sowing any signs of cracking. not common
listen for bearing noise coming from the transfer box. not common

i would give it a launch to make sure everything is tight.

you know the rest really.

Check all the mentioned above and check all tim tyres for wear as well as uneven wear.check the brake discs for wear as all these could need replaced and you could bargain the on the price.check the mileage against previous mot's along with the service history.
Bodywork for rust
Suspension for wear
Condition of the interior.

I've mentioned loads but do your best to check the car as good as you possibly can.
