Hey guys,

Do you offer any further discounts for having an installed DashCam?

I got a quote from you earlier in the month which was already competitive but forgot to mention that I have a DashCam installed, if/when I call back should I mention my DashCam?

I think we could work out a nice deal for you there bud. How's 75% discount sound for starters?

Hi,

I'm afraid there are no extra discounts for Dash Cams but knowledge that you have one may increase our confidence in the rate we've quoted you if it's a particularly low one.

OK no worries, it certainly increases my own confidence should I have to make any claims! :)

Admiral increased mine as they classes it as an interior modification :/

Wow that is all kinds of lame, my current insurance provider reduces it by 10% (or 12.5% if you use their own sponsored brand of cam).

Does that mean you're only covered if it is on?

Nope, they just consider the fact you have one to mean you are less likely to claim if it was your fault. After all why would you put in a claim without your DashCam footage if you were not at fault?

That's handy to know. I've never thought of mentioning I have one as I assumed that no discounts were available.

That said of course, even without the DashCam discount Chris Knotts was still more than competitive so I am still on course to be taking out my next policy with them. :)

And that's the way we always work, so the dash cam is a non-issue.
