Thanks so much for your custom in 2014, especially in response to the Chris Knott Prize Draws at the tale end of the year. I'm pleased to announce that December's winner was Mrs D Woodfin from Bolton. She bagged herself a £100 Amazon Voucher and all she did was ask us for a quote.

During the early part of this year we're aiming to start negotiations with the companies on our insurer panel to alter the scheme access criteria, allowing us to quote competitively for even more car club/forum members. We'll keep you posted as things develop.

It's a really good result. We were asked to quote for car insurance 71 times last year by the club's members.

They were willing to insure me if I was willing to stump up 5k, it also depends on your previous cars

Hi, we did set out our criteria in the original post (though the ages have dropped a bit since then) but the performance experience requirement is the same.

We'll be good for you next year under the power criteria, not sure about the age as I don't know how old you are.

im 22, i listed about 5 mods, then the woman i spoke to stopped me and asked me how old i was, as soon as i said 22, she said that because of my age and the mods/potential power they won't insure me.

In our OP we posted the criteria for the scheme which included the above. The MPS is a performance model in itself even before performance mods are added and we stated 25 as the minimum age (sometimes 28).

This has since changed to 23 (sometimes 25, depending on the make and model of car being quoted).

So at 22 you're not going to get a competitive quote from us on an MPS I'm afraid. Next year we should be fine for you though.

Congratulations to Mr B Windeatt, a member of car club forum MG-Rover.org, who won our £500 competition last month. All he had to do was call for a Chris Knott Car Insurance quote to be entered into the draw. Now his cheque is on it's way.

They say that if you wait long enough everything comes back into fashion. That's certainly what's happened with 0800 freephone numbers as, since 1st July, 0800 calls are now FREE on all mobiles as well as landlines.

We'll continue to advertise the Chris Knott geographic number (01424 200477) alongside our freephone number for a little while yet but you can start using our 0800 917 2274 number from your mobiles with immediate effect.

Well, I tried to get a quote from you guys but the lady on the other end said that since a CU80 was on my licence (answered my mobile phone while I was pulling up to traffic lights and got nabbed by a bike riding copper) that I couldn't be insured through you.

Couldn't go back to Flux after their claims handling experience proved to be claims fumbling experience, so as of tomorrow I'll be insured through Sky, who cheerfully beat the best quote I had anyway :)

Yes, sorry about that. Insurers particularly don't like the CU80 conviction as it hints at habitual lack of control.
