Dunlops and Bridgstones are reputable tyres. Even though they may not be first choice on this forum, they will wear out at some stsge snd you can get the most suitable then. I would take a careful look at how they have worn to identify potential problems with suspension, steering etc.

Thanks, going to see them both on Saturday so fingers crossed i will have my MPS next week.

Both of the cars i am looking at are on 62k and 69k. They have both had their big services but isnt there a service due at 74k miles something with the tappet check?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the feedback.

I spoke to a chap in Peterborough about the silver MPS.

He said Dunlops on the rears and Bridgestone Vector Sports on the front.

What are peoples thoughts on these?

Good makes, but not matching.

So just an update.

The car in Peterborough was in horrible condition. The engine was all shuddering and dirty.

The one in St Albans was amazing condition, pulled very well but dont know if i would like a red one.

Going to see this one on Saturday:

I think if i can get it under 8k i will be taking it home.

Is that too expensive? From what the market looks like atm it seems fair.

Anyways let me know what you guys think about the one above.

Thanks guys

Hi BalisticZeus,

Noticed it has two different tyres on rear, but running a pair of Landsail tyres at the front, £37 a tyre on eBay with grip C rating.

Has an aftermarket air filter and possible a short ram intake of some description as I can see a blue colour pipe connecting to the BPV, but could be just a new pipe? Might want to check the ECU wiring on the left of battery box for ware, as this mod can be tight on wires.

Noticed it has something to the left of the gear stick, not sure what that is? You also have another alarm fob and maybe to do with that?

Was missing a CAT 5000 miles ago in 2017.

I got my black Mk2 MPS in April on 10 plate and paid 8500 from Mazda dealer, so would say the price is right, but worth asking and good luck!

Dale.

Hi Dale,

Could it just be he wacked on two crap tyres to sell it?

So do i have to watch out for this one? When you say check the ECU writing on the battery box, whats the reason for this?

So with the missing cat it will be louder but still pass the MOT right?

Thanks

Legally it shouldn't pass an MOT with a missing cat. It needs to have all the cat's that it came out the factory with to pass an MOT. However this is reliant on the tester knowing/checking how many cat's it originally had.

From an emissions perspective it will most likely pass. I've had two MPS 6's for a total of nearly 5 years and both had the 2nd cat removed and never had an issue with MOT.

Hmmm, unfortunately the car has actually sold... I think i am going to go for the Red MPS in St Albans.

I have seen a few on the FB page, and although I would love a heavily modified example, I wouldnt be able to get insurance (being so young).

So fingers crossed will be picking it up on Saturday.

£7,680 isnt too expensive for a 2010 reg 62k miles MPS?

Thanks Gary

Price wise that looks about right I'd say. Not much in the way of details on the ad though. Did you get any more info from the garage?

So I went to see it last Saturday and one of the members on here came with me (Dan if you know him, had a white stage 3 MPS but sold it recently). He said it was great condition and everything checked out.

One thing that was missing was the SD card for the maps, is this a big issue? How much do they cost to replace?

Very excited to pick up my new toy!

Hi Boys,

Just did an MOT check on my MPS... there is an outstanding recall. Does anyone know what this may be for?

“Outstanding recall found
This vehicle has been recalled since at least 30 July 2019.

Contact a MAZDA dealership to arrange for repairs.

If you've had the recalled component repaired recently, it can take up to 3 weeks for the manufacturer to update their records.

This information is provided by the vehicle manufacturer. If you think the information is wrong, contact the vehicle manufacturer's dealership. Please do not contact the DVSA, as we are not able to change the recall status.”

I have done a little research and someone mentioned the boot strut as well as the drivers seat.

Any help is really appreciated!
