Hi all, thought I'd introduce myself. Bought a 6 MPS late last year, it's in pretty poor shape but it was the cheapest in the country at the time and it's still roadworthy!
So far I'm having fun with it, but I forsee a lot of expenditure in the very near future (rust & engine work).

Welcome. I would have an emergency fund available for unexpected surprises and a planned program of work. Do you have any data about work already done or are you "in the dark"? Unless it has a very low mileage you will probably need a new vvt actuator and timing chain fitted.

Hi Foxy, part of the reason it was so cheap was there was no service history and it was quite high mileage (110K).
I've already done brakes and tyres which made a massive difference, but I will need to do chain and actuator (think I saw a kit on ebay for around £200). As well as this mechanical stuff I think I'll have to look at all suspension components as it doesn't feel as tight going round corners as it should. Another problem is it only has one key and for some reason it has become "unprogrammed" and doesn't remotely operate any doors so I'll have to find someone to get me a new key and program it somehow lol.
All fun and games though!

Don't buy anything other than a genuine VVT kit, circa £400, much less and I'd say it isn't genuine.
