Hi all.

Have bought a 3 Mk2 2010, 62k miles and collecting Friday morning! :mosh:

It's black, has black alloys and a stainless exhaust and goes like stink! So much so I'm wondering if it's already mapped. Have paid subscription to this site and already read stuff about checking boost levels so will look into that soon.

Just one last day with my Golf mk4 GTi TDI 150 (190 remap) which I have had for 11 years....a great car, but already know this will be greater and look forward to being part of this site. :mpsoc:

Dale.

Welcome.

You can use torque free to see if your car's mapped.

Set up boost to be monitored, if it goes over say 16.5 then it's a decent chance it's been mapped

Hi phoenoxdancer and thank you.

Got a few posts going on the forum now. Have logged various runs and boost peaks at 17.9 and stays above 17 til about 4200rpm. Absolute load also peaks at 201.

Dealer sold it to me as not mapped because the previous owner said so.

Getting the dealer to connect him once back off holiday to get the truth and whether I need another (safe) map or not.

Dale.

The car may have been mapped by any of the previous owners. If so, you will need to know if it is safe and that the HPFP internals have been upgraded. If you are not sure about either then it would be wise to get it sorted.

Thanks Foxy.

Have already taken the HPFP off and it has Autotech internals. Looks like previous owner has done everything right so far, just the map now.....

Still never found out about the map, Northampton Mazda garage seems completely incapable of getting back to me dispite 15+ calls, various messages, emails to call back, nothing. Also only just found out their overfilled my car with oil when I bought it! I hope it's ok running like this, will certainly avoid taking my car there.

As for map, I was looking at installing solid bushing for my gear stick and found a Post-It note with a postcode on it. Post code goes to BBR GTI tuning so guess it's been done by them

You may be right about the over filling but the MPS is acutely sensitive about how level the ground is when checking oil level. Also always "double dip".
