Hi everyone
I’m looking at a 6 mps as a new daily, replacing the Lexus IS300 I have
Now I’m curious and cautious about zzb? People say it’s a soft engine other people say it’s just delicate....

If I am 100% honest, I’m a bit of an abuser of cars, but saying that I’ve own rx8s, rx7s and gt4s which are all ‘delicate’ and not had a problem.

So the toss up is between the 6mps or a quattro a4 3l tdi

Peoples opinions please?

Hi Mazilios,

I've driven my mates 3.0 derv quattro and compared to my Mazda 3 MPS (mk1) it was pretty dull. It had loads of low down torque and pulled hard, but but i was constantly Red lining it as it ran out ot of puff very quickly.

Not sure how it would compare to a 6 MPS, as I've never driven one.

Lots of MPSs about with original engines/turbos and in excess of 150k miles, so unless your boot it in 5/6 at low revs, ignore VVT rattles, and don't change the oil regularly it should last you. I'd be more terrified about rotting back arches,.

A 6MPS in decent condition is excellent value for money on today's market even if you have to shell out for a replacement vvt/chain. Good time to buy with the Winter ahead.
