Hi all. I knew nothing about Mazdas having never owned or wanted one in my life. I knew of the MPS model, but not any detail. Have had mainly Imprezas (x2 UK Turbos, an STi6 and an STI Hawkeye) and most recently a Golf R. The Golf R lease is ending soon and going back in Feb, so I started looking for something new. Whilst I did many miles in the Golf, I'm not really doing any real miles at present. I was looking for something cheap, fast and comfortable and thinking an Insignia V6 Elite which are absolute bargains. But found the Mazda on Autotrader. My search criteria was any make, any model, 4 wheel drive, less than 60K and less that 8 secs 0-60. Amazing what Q-cars you can find this way.

The Mazda6 I found had done just 44k miles in 10 years and has a full Mazda service history, but for the last 3 years has not done more than 4k miles. I went to see it, expecting to not like it and find problems. But I really liked it and surprised myself when I bought it. No rust, no smoke, no ticking ... all seems good (fingers crossed). Just need to get the wheels refurbed, but understand that is par for the course on Mazdas.

Compared to the Impreza it does feel very different. Not as planted as the Impreza and the Mazda feels more of a fast cruiser. But that's what I need right now. Love the interior more than the Impreza. The Golf is just something else, but then they should be at over four times the price for a car with the same mileage.

So, very happy with the Mazda and will explore these forums to find out more about the car.

How much did it go for and what mileage ?
Mine has 30k and 1 owner, just wondering what it’s worth.
Cheers

Looks like it got sold by the garage where I part-ex'ed it for £4k. Had 66k on the clock.

Yeah. I part-ex'ed for £3k, so dealer made £1k on it. It had brand new tyres, and almost new discs and pads all round. Had also been serviced recently. Was a great car and superb value for money. Should have sold it myself privately but didn't want the hassle, and anyway was hankering after a rather lovely Jaguar XFR which I now have :)
