I'm trying to find a second hand box at the minute as a new one is approx £2k. I'll post on here how I get on.

Transfer box was well and truly shot. Bearing had collapsed and pinions had more or less lost all their teeth. Managed to get a second hand box from a breaker in Rochdale for less than £700. Big thanks to them.

Back on the road now and fingers crossed all is well

What was the mileage? Any history of the TB oil being changed?

I have just been told by Halfords that my transfer box needs to be replaced at a cost of about 3k. I was thinking is it possible to disconnect the transfer box and have 2wd only for the time being?
