New boy here, just thought I'd say hello.

I've been looking at a mps 6, in black fully loaded. Can people tell me what to look for please? I know every car has its weak points, but I don't know much about the mps 6. I see the road tax is high on some, what year dose the tax change?

Also I'd be looking at engine mods, any good websites to look out for? What sort of power is sensible for these cars?

As the cars are quite rare it's a little difficult to find info on the net I've found

As for power, if done right you can get 800hp if you're willing to spend the money

Road tax on the 6 rocketed on 23 March 2006 for first registration. Today that means £500 per year instead of £300.

After just picking one up this week can give you my 2 pence worth. I'm no mechanic and probably paid too much for the car I bought but hey ho.
Obvs check for service history, general condition of car, rust on rear arches and around bumpers. Check air con works. Check tyres all same and evenly worn. Better to have one where VVT and chain been replaced I guess. Check no EML lights on, take an OBD reader with you so if there is can diagnose the issue, wish I had of! Let her idle for 10 mins, lots of white smoke = turbo issue. Look on youtube for chain noise issue on start up.
