After the asshat in Mazda changed my ITV 22's for standard spark plugs during a service when they were specifically told not to, i thought i'd run some logs to see what difference the ITV make.

Log on the left is with stock plugs, on the right with ITV 22's.

Good work  Nice to see a like for like comparison.

Of course, this is only the case because your car has been tuned with more agressive timings with your colder plugs. Without a map, they'll not make a scrap of difference other than slightly less power :D

Yes, it is only as i have a map however worth knowing for others that go down the remap route that it if they change the plugs it may cure any knock they are getting, a tuner will hold back on timing or boost which ultimately means less power if they detect knock so worth having colder plugs.

I was always told that once you reach 2.0 load then you need step colder.
