Are those ^^^ the correct ones? easy to replace?
I also have the torque app on my phone if thats useful to diagnose anything?

Torque App - go to test results, perform the test for 02 sensor checks and any misfires

perform an ecu code check too

also look at long term fuel trims, high positive number and you have a boost leak on your intake side

Also compare desired afr with actual afr (if torque supports those pids)

Days off tomorrow so will check all the torque results... this may sound silly but will it still check ok sitting on idle?
I'm going to buy some ngk spark plugs, do they need re-gapping as looking around the 0.8 gap seems to be ok?
will have the MAF sensor out for a clean aswell when the cleaner arrives.
Thanks for everyones help!

Changed plugs and cleaned MAF but it didn't fix it!
I'm not really bothered about it too much just so long as its not damaging my engine??

When my O2 sensor went it exhibited your symptoms plus an absolutely terrifying "return to idle" just as I was pullling out from a road juction. It didn't stall and would just as quickly come back to life. Not everytime just sometimes. Very expensive repair, for what it is, so I would be careful to make sure it is the O2 sensor first.
I have never had a bad batch of Momentum, quite a few V Power though.

i have just been perusing the site , as you do and upon reading post 1 thought nothing of it , but then reading this post by foxy i realised my 3 is doing exactly what yours is , at the time i put it down to having a bad driving few days and before that bad fuel as had recently switched to momentum from vpower so switched back , the car pulled like a train but then i kept stalling when setting off from junctions , not all the time , sometimes i would be able to catch it before it stalled .
Thanks to this i now think i am not just being really rubbish at driving , or a bad batch of fuel and will look into this further.

I did use Torque to check this (Frodge - its a app you can get on andriod phones to read data from your car) Wasn't too sure what too look for?? test results came back with all ticks so i assumed this was good! Desired and actual afr seemed similar number except on idle? And no high positive numbers on fuel trims

yea its an app. if your on android you can download for a coupke of quid. there is one similer for iphone but costs more. Then get yourself an elm327 off ebay. and away you go. you can keep an eye on your car with your phone.

looks like this. you can pick what you want to view and set uo your own screen.

thanks for that will6mps and gavin , i will have to look into this as it could be a very handy diagnostic tool , i assume the elm device is plugged into your obd port and somehow connects to your phone thereby giving realtime data , fortunatly the wifey has an android phone , i dont as i have a company blackberry , hopefully one day they will change them for something better , i dont suppose you could use an android based tablet could you?
